Position Summary
The part-time Adult Education Teacher, provides and coordinates services and instruction to special populations, such as the economically and educationally disadvantaged, and disabled. This position will serve as the primary contact and provide instruction in academic areas (reading, math, and language) for all assigned students. Instruction is based on the individual needs of each participant. Willing and able to work with disadvantaged adults on the basic academic level.
SALARY: $13.62 - $27.25 per hour, not to exceed 19 hours per week.
Part-time positions are posted based on the possible availability of a future assignment which are sporadic and may not occur. Available positions are contingent upon enrollment and instructional needs of the College.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following list was developed through a job analysis; however, it is not exhaustive and other duties may be required and assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Adult Education Operations. Provides support to Instructional staff as needed.
Assists the Adult Education teacher in providing learning opportunities that draw upon and extend learners' knowledge, skills, and interests.
Assists the teacher in extending learners' knowledge and competency using technology to aid learning.
Assists in providing a respectful and supportive learning environment.
Maintains a computer filing system that fosters the ability to enter, edit and retrieve data from computer files on request.
Enters data to create student files and matches student records with files when necessary.
Distributes, monitors, and receives documents for filing.
Provides students with information such as providing the program's philosophy, goals, instructional services, schedules, attendance policies, and any other relevant information.
Assists the Adult Education teacher in administering assessment instruments to diagnose, evaluate, and place adult learners.
Administers pre- and post-tests; administering the GED Ready (the official GED practice test).
Follows all guidelines in the Adult Education Assessment Policy.
Assists the Adult Education teacher in preparing monthly Contact Hour Reports.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Possession of an bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
One year of teaching or tutoring experience is preferred.
Available positions are contingent upon enrollment and the instructional needs of the College.
